When it comes to mascara, I’m not easily impressed. I feel like it’s a rarity to find a mascara that lengthens, volumises and gives clump-free results all in one. So far, I’ve found I have to sacrifice at least one of those components. I also use a mixture of two to three products with every application, layering as needs be – ugh, what an effort. I really enjoyed using 5D Lash Pow by Makeup Revolution. The opening mechanic was something I’ve never seen before, and I thought it was really unique and memorable. The product itself is fantastic considering its price, and applied really smoothly, giving my lashes lots of volume, and the jet-black colour somehow made my eyes seem bigger and brighter. The wand is so thick, I did find it slightly tricky to get into the corner of my eyes but, on the flip side, it did lengthen and lift my lashes a lot more than other mascaras I’ve used. I’ll be buying this product again for sure – for £8.99 you really can’t go wrong.

I'm not afraid to say it: I'm a mascara snob. When it comes to sky-high length and XXL volume, I've learned that you often get what you pay for. So when this super-affordable mascara landed on my desk, promising the maximalist result I crave for just £8.99, I was sceptical. Oh, how wrong I was. The push cap means more product to coat across your lashes for mega volume but, impressively, without any clumping. My lashes were perfectly even and pushed up without requiring any of the pesky separating you often find with new mascaras. Slight marks were deducted because I did have to apply a few coats to get the volume I desired (if you prefer more of a natural look, one coat should be plenty), but it was worth it in the end. Looks like my mascara snob days are behind me. I'm a total convert.

Mascara has always been one of my *cannot live without* makeup items, so it's fair to say I have tried many different brands, from the good, to the bad, to the downright smudgey. My go-to formula is always volumising, and I love a curved wand for getting all lashes covered, so safe to say I had high expectations. I love the easy click-to-open design, and my first impression was the wand really is chunky. On my initial application, I found the formula slightly clumpy and when mixed with the large brush it was slightly challenging to cover all my lashes. However, by my second use, I had it figured out and WOW. My lashes instantly looked longer and so much thicker – and with only one coat. This is definitely going to become a regular in my makeup routine.

I love fluttery lashes, so when I read the description on this mascara, I had high hopes.
Firstly, let's talk about the wand – it's huge! I found it quite difficult to get the wand to really grab onto my lashes for a lifted look. The formula is also quite wet so I found my lashes were clumping together and had to use the wand to spread the product out. Having said that, it did provide a good amount of length to my lashes, so definitely ticks the lengthening box. Overall, this mascara was nice to use but didn't give me that multiplied false-lash look promised on the packaging.

Anytime a new mascara drops on my beauty desk, I’m all in. Mascara is my desert-island beauty product and since I’m too lazy to apply falsies on the regular, this is what I resort to, to elevate my makeup look. However, I’m strict with my mascaras. My lashes are naturally quite curly, but they could do with some length and thickness. Therefore, I need something that is lengthening and volumising, that will give the illusion I have wings for lashes, ready to take flight, all while still looking au naturel.
This mascara did just that. But let me start with the basics. The packaging is pretty cool; I haven’t seen anything like it on a mascara. It has a push-cap-locks mechanism, which means you don’t have to worry about twisting and turning, and it helps it seal better to increase its lifespan and stop it from drying out quickly. Then comes the brush – that’s when I was sold. Its thick and bushy, and that’s exactly what I want for my lashes. As for the formula, it didn’t clump and gave me the length I needed *chef’s kiss*.
If someone comes up to you and asks, ‘Wow, are those your real lashes?’, you know you’re onto a good one – looks like I’ll be keeping 5D Lash Pow mascara to hand.
