Man, 58, is arrested on suspicion of murder after death of woman, also 58

Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 58-year-old woman in Hereford.

Officers attended the scene at an address in Cotton Meadows, Kingstone at around 5:10pm on Saturday evening. 

Emergency services took the woman to hospital where she later passed away.

A murder investigation has been started and a 58-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion.

Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Lougher said that the family were being kept in the thoughts of the police.

He added: 'I understand that incidents of this nature can be alarming but would like to reassure the local community that there is no wider risk to the public.

'Our officers remain at the scene, and you may see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days as our investigation continues.'
