UPDATED: “Clueless” actress and former Fox News contributor Stacey Dash appeared on Wednesday’s segment of “Fox & Friends” to voice her disapproval of the celebration of Black History Month and other institutions that celebrate racial differences.
“Either we want to have segregation or integration,” said the actress, who is Bajan, African American and Mexican. “And if we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black. If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard.”

BET fired back on Wednesday night, writing “Soooooo [Stacey Dash], can we get our check back … or nah?” on the network’s official Instagram account. Dash had a recurring role on the BET show “The Game” from 2009 to 2011. They also posted a photo of her from “Clueless” with the caption “Aww dang. I loved you in ‘Clueless.’ I had no idea that you actually were.”
“The View” hosts also slammed Dash on Thursday over her remarks, calling her a hypocrite for having a role on “The Game,” presenting at the NAACP awards and covering black-oriented magazines.

Dash pushed her logic on racial integration even further on “Fox & Friends,” suggesting the elimination of Black History Month.
“We’re Americans. Period. That’s it,” she said.
“Fox & Friends” host Steve Doocy responded to Dash’s comment by asking the actress if she meant that we shouldn’t observe Black History Month because there isn’t a comparable celebratory month for Caucasians, to which she responded, “Exactly.”
Whoopi Goldberg insisted on “The View” that BET and Black History Month are significant because black history isn’t taught in schools.
“American history holds all of us and [Dash is] right in that. Yes, we are all Americans, but we’re not all treated like Americans,” she said. “And one of the reasons that there is a BET is because networks wouldn’t take a lot of the shows that have an all-black cast. … Unfortunately, we need things like BET.”
No stranger to brazen comments, Dash was suspended from her gig as an on-air Fox contributor last month for using crude language to describe President Barack Obama during a talk show appearance.
The actress’ bold declaration occurs amidst a widespread backlash against the lack of diversity among this year’s Oscar nominees — an uproar that has led to industry figures like Spike Lee and Jada Pinkett Smith to consider boycotting the Feb. 28 ceremony.
