A teenage girl has become an online star after she revealed that the family she babysits for bought her a car for her birthday — and people are losing it over the extravagant gift.
Kay Featherston from Indiana took to Twitter on Thursday to share a photo of herself posed in front of a silver SUV, explaining: 'The family I babysit for bought me a car for my 17th birthday... sooo thankful.'
Unsurprisingly, there were more than a few Twitter users who were completely baffled by the surprise gift, with one person named Freddy responding: 'My own parents won't even buy me a car.'

The picture sees Kay standing in a driveway and smiling for the camera while showing off the SUV.
Although it is unclear if the vehicle was brand new or used, the family undoubtedly spent thousands of dollars on it.
Many people went on to comment that they can't even get their own parents to buy them inexpensive items, let alone a car.
'My mom won't even by me a McDouble,' Lacey Gardner wrote, while a woman named Hannah said: 'Are you s***ting me? My mom won't even buy me a slushie.

Understandably, most commenters really had trouble coming to terms with the fact that the parents who employ her were willing to buy her a car.
'I'm babysitting for the wrong family damn,' a woman named Kat tweeted.
Someone named Sabrina added: 'I get paid like $5 per kid whaaaaat,' while a Twitter user named Danni responded: 'I work two jobs and told the fam I used to babysit for I couldn't babysit one night and they told me to delete their number.
And someone else creatively changed the lyrics to Kanye West's hit song 'Gold Digger', writing: 'Now I ain't saying she's a gold digga... but she ain't babysitting broke n****s.'

Of course, some people lewdly suggested that the teen was having an affair with the father, with Erin imagining Kay telling the parent: 'I won't tell your wife about us if you buy me a car.'
Someone named Hayward joked it was 'hush money', while someone else asked: 'You got info on the dad he don't want to get out?'
However, not everyone was shocked by the gift, and some even thought it was touching.
'I mean the family I babysat for took me and my friend to NYC and paid for literally everything so...' Tori Martin wrote.
'What if they just bought her the [car] for the kindness of their hearts. What if she [had] been babysitting them for a while and they welcomed her as family?' someone else responded.
